The highly coveted BCS examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, opening doors to civil service jobs under the government. Annually, a large number of aspirants prepare intensely for limited spots. To begin your journey, you must handle the application process. Here’s a thorough guide to help you apply successfully.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To kickstart the process, visit the official website of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC): www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the sole portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Be careful from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Search for the latest BCS exam circular under the announcements section. The circular includes key information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other relevant instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Thoroughly review the eligibility criteria, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The typical age limit is within the range of 21–30 years for general candidates, but modifications can be granted for specific groups such as freedom fighter family members or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the application portal (Form 1). Input all necessary fields, such as personal details, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Review for any mistakes. Providing invalid information can lead to cancellation.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a fresh copyright-sized photograph (with dimensions 300x300, file size below 100KB) and your signature (300 pixels by 80 pixels, file size below 60KB). Confirm these follow the instructions mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After sending in your application, you will obtain a User ID. Use this ID to pay the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually 700 BDT for general candidates and Tk. 100 for others. Follow the guidelines provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation SMS with a payment reference ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Revisit the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Complete your application well before the deadline to steer clear of last-minute problems.

Print a copy of the finalized document for future use, such as for downloading the admit card.

By sticking to these guidelines, you can submit your form successfully for the BCS exam and progress towards your desired position in the Bangladesh Civil Service. All the best!
